Our Project

On August 12, 2026, a Total Solar Eclipse will cross the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, the Atlantic Ocean, and northern Spain, giving millions the chance to witness totality for up to 2 minutes and 18 seconds. Remarkably, this eclipse follows almost the exact path of the endangered Atlantic Fin Whale’s migration. The Fin Whale Eclipse Project was created to celebrate this rare alignment of sky and sea, inviting people to experience both natural wonders while reflecting on their shared importance to our planet.
